Sweet, detailed, and just a little over the top—in the best way.

This class takes one of the most playful Stitch People holiday designs and turns it into a fully textured, dimensional embroidery piece—complete with frosting, candy, and all the tiny details that make a gingerbread house feel magical.

You’ll move beyond basic stitching and learn how to build a piece—layer by layer—using a mix of embroidery techniques, textures, and creative embellishments.

Class Details:

🎥 Format: 3-part class series + 3 bonus “Homework” videos (recordings with lifetime access)
🎂 Pattern: Gingerbread House pattern included
🧑 Instructor: Lizzy Dabczynski-Bean, founder of Stitch People
📚 Reference: Optional use of Hand-Stitched House for deeper technique support
♾️ Access: Videos available in your Stitch People account immediately after purchase

What You’ll Create:

A richly detailed gingerbread house scene featuring icing, gumdrops, peppermint swirls, and decorative elements that feel almost good enough to eat. The base structure can be stitched traditionally, but the magic comes in how you bring it to life—using texture, dimension, and playful materials.

What You’ll Learn:
  • How to combine cross-stitch and embroidery techniques
  • How to use stitches intentionally to mimic real textures (frosting, candy, wood, etc.)
  • How to add dimension with satin stitch, French knots, wagon wheels, and more
  • How to incorporate optional materials like beads, pom poms, ribbon, or specialty threads for extra “candy” detail
  • How to make creative decisions that take your piece from flat → alive

The pattern gives you structure, but the class shows you how to make it real.

Bonus: “Homework” Videos (x3):

In addition to the 3 core classes, you’ll receive 3 bonus videos designed to support your progress between sessions—reinforcing key techniques, walking through tricky sections, and giving you momentum so you don’t stall out halfway through.

Perfect For:
  • Stitchers ready to experiment beyond traditional cross-stitch
  • Anyone who loves highly detailed, whimsical designs
  • Holiday crafters who want something handmade and heirloom-worthy
  • People who see a gumdrop and think “I could embroider that”
What You’ll Walk Away With:
  • A finished (or very-nearly-finished) gingerbread house embroidery
  • A deeper understanding of texture, layering, and embellishment
  • The confidence to mix techniques in future projects
  • A piece you will absolutely pull out every holiday season

This is one of those projects where you start with a pattern and end with something that feels like your own tiny world. Sugary, sparkly, and stitched by hand.
