Design it. Plan it. Stitch it. All from scratch.

This is not a “follow-the-pattern” class. This is where you learn how to create one.

In this 4-part class series, you’ll design and embroider your own beach bungalow from the ground up—guided step-by-step through the exact process used to turn a real-life reference into a finished, textured embroidery piece. Inspired by a tropical stilted bungalow, this project combines structure, texture, and color into a piece that feels both architectural and alive.

Class Details:

🎥 Format: 4-part class series with recordings + lifetime access
🏠 Finished size: Approximately 7" hoop-ready (or scaled to your preference)
🧑 Instructor: Lizzy Dabczynski-Bean, founder of Stitch People
📚 Reference: Optional use of Hand-Stitched House for deeper technique support
ℹ️ Note: Pattern was created during class, initially, but will be provided

What You’ll Do — Session by Session:

Class 1: Design (2–3 hrs)
Create your own bungalow pattern—either using provided options or developing your own layout. Learn how to break down a reference image into stitchable shapes and structure.

Class 2: Planning (1.5–2 hrs)
Decide how to bring it to life—choosing stitches, textures, and floss colors. From corrugated roof lines to palm leaves and sand, every choice is intentional.

Classes 3 & 4: Stitching (approx. 2 hrs each)
Now you execute. Build dimension and detail using a mix of embroidery techniques—satin stitch, stem stitch, long stitches for water and sand, textured stitches for foliage, and more.

What You’ll Learn:
  • How to translate real-world imagery into embroidery
  • How to choose stitches based on texture and effect
  • How to build depth using layering, direction, and variation
  • How to confidently select colors for a cohesive final piece
  • How to create a finished embroidery that feels designed—not copied
Who This Is For:
  • Stitchers ready to move beyond pre-made patterns
  • Creative brains who want more control over their projects
  • Anyone who’s thought, “I wish I knew how to design my own…”
  • People who like their embroidery a little more dimensional, expressive, and alive
What You’ll Walk Away With:

A fully designed and hand-embroidered beach bungalow—approximately 7" hoop-ready—complete with palm trees, architectural detail, and layered scenery like sand and water.

And more importantly: you’ll know how to do it again.

This is the shift from stitcher to artist. And once you learn it, you don’t go back. 😘

The videos will be available in your Stitch People Account immediately after purchase.
