Ursa Major is a large constellation located in the northern sky and is visible in the night sky with the naked eye. It is best seen in the spring months in the northern hemisphere.
In Greek mythology, Ursa Major is associated with the myth of Callisto, a nymph loved by Zeus. She was transformed into a bear by the jealous Hera and placed in the night sky as the constellation we know today. Zeus then placed her son Arcas as the nearby constellation of Ursa Minor.
