Join the Stitch People Community on Facebook!
I’m so excited for you to join the group 🙂 Before you do, though, let me go over a few housekeeping items!

Freestyle Friday
Friday is the day set aside for you to post all your non-Stitch People projects! We like to keep the group as focused on Stitch People projects as possible, so please limit your other “work-in-progress” posts to Fridays only!

Use the Search Feature
Do you have a question? Take a second to search through the group history–you might find it’s already been answered! If not, start a new thread and let’s get the conversation rolling!

Contribute to the Community
The Stitch People Community is truly one of the most kind, caring, uplifting, and positive places on the internet! Help us keep it that way by offering support and encouragement, posting pictures of your completed projects, and being a force for good!
Rules and Guidelines (The Short Version)
Be excellent to each other
Be respectful of everyone
Give at least as much as you take
Who’s in charge here?
Me (Lizzy Dabczynski-Bean), my wonderful husband, Spencer Bean, and our incredible assistant Theresa Lawson! Stitch People is our baby, and slowly becoming our full-time jobs. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to be able to spend our time online with the wonderful people in the Stitch People Community, and we want to do everything we possibly can to help. You’ll definitely see us around!
Do you offer Stitch People support through the group?
We don’t offer Stitch People customer support in the group. If you want to place an order, cancel an order, or have questions about an order, or if you have questions relating to your e-book download (or anything else related to the business of Stitch People), please send me an email at lizzy@stitchpeople.com so I can take care of you!
I think my post disappeared!
Things may be moving fast, and your post may simply be “covered up” by newer posts. Facebook may not have posted it, due to a technical error or connectivity issue. Do a search for your post – if you don’t find it, try posting again.
NOTE: If your post violates our rules and guidelines it may have been removed by an admin.
What if no one responds to my post?
Please don’t take it personally! This may be due to the natural ebb and flow of Facebook traffic, the speed of posting and responding to our specific group, or perhaps your post rendered everyone speechless 🙂 Try re-posting at a different time of day, re-wording your post, or shortening your post. Don’t give up! Keep commenting, sharing, posting, reaching out and connecting.
Still have questions? Send me an email at lizzy@stitchpeople.com

Rules and Guidelines
The Facebook group is optional. If you do not agree to the guidelines outlined here, we recommend you remove yourself from the Facebook group. If you do not remove yourself from the Facebook group, and proceed to violate the rules and guidelines outlined here, you will be removed by a group administrator: Lizzy Dabczynski-Bean, Spencer Bean, or Theresa Lawson.
The group is for cross-stitchers, needleworkers, and crafters who may or may not own the “Do-It-Yourself Stitch People” book. Association with the group does not automatically provide you with a copy of the book, but you may feel free to purchase one at any time. Please do not share your e-book copies with group members who have not purchased their own copy.
We realize that there are many people selling their finished cross-stitch portraits, but we ask that you don’t advertise or promote your own business within the group. You can absolutely ask questions (like how to best run your business, deal with clients, etc.) but please don’t post links to your Etsy shops or websites, and please don’t actively solicit work in the group.
We want the group to be online forum where like-minded individuals with similar interests and hobbies can connect, help, and uplift one another. We hope it will become a generous place of giving more than you get (support, insight, kind words).
We won’t tolerate unethical behavior, plagiarism, stealing (ideas, work, email addresses), immoral discussion topics, rudeness, threats, vulgarity, or disrespectfulness, whether to Lizzy, the Stitch People company, anyone associated with the Stitch People company, or anyone participating in the Stitch People Community. “If you can’t say nothin’ nice, don’t say nothin’ at all.”
The community is about friendship, kindness, support, and learning. It is not a place to try to find customers, or recruit people for other groups or programs. It is not the environment to give or receive accredited therapy or psychological counseling.
If you connect with another group member and enter into a professional contract with him or her, you do so at your own risk and we recommend you do your due diligence. We are not responsible for any unfavorable circumstance that may result from a relationship formed because of an acquaintance through the Stitch People FB group.
Any content – opinions, advice, information – posted to the group belongs to the author of that content, alone, and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of Stitch People. You respond to and rely upon any content at your own risk.
If you have any questions about our group rules – what’s okay, and what’s not okay – please feel free to email lizzy@stitchpeople.com at any time.
